I use a face cleanser every night that helps me control my acne (followed by toner, moisturizer, etc). I've been wearing a lot of make up lately and wondering if I need to or should use a make up remover cloth (or something else) to remove the make up before washing my face with the cleanser...or perhaps that's redundant since the cleanser is supposed to, well, cleanse? Thoughts?Do I need to use a make up remover prior to my face cleanser?
For your face, no.
For you eyes, Yes, and one specifically for eye make up removal.
Avon's eye make-up remover is only $1.99.

the less chemicals you use the better. They have makeup now that is for acne prone skin. Though most girls use wash cloths no remove makeup also- i dint recommend it... it irritated the skin and can cause the chemicals to go deeper into the skin
If you wear a lot of eye make up, you should probably use make-up remover because it may be hard to wash with a cleanser around your eyes. It may irritate, also
Yeah, mascara is a *****.
Yes, you certainly need a facial cleanser. I usually do the following steps and it works well with me:-
1- Rub face with cold water.
2- use a facial cleanser ( I use Neutrogena).
3- I use Neutrogena's exfoliating cleanser (3 times a week).
5- Apply Toner followed by Moisturizer.(I usually use Clarins).
Make-Up remover is best for the more stubborn make=up (eyeliner, mascara, lipstick). However, a good gentle cleanser appropriate for your skin should always be used afterwards to clean the residue, oils, dead skin cells et al.
yes you need to before cleansing. read tips on skincare and more to help you on this site
I think it is better to use makeup remover before cleansing with cleanser. Otherwise if you could not remove makeup completely, acne and pore blockages may occur.
I suggest you do exactly what you are doing now but use a makeup remover with less alcohol base and a chemical free cleanser.its less harsh on your skin
better if you use face cleanser. In fact, when i used to be in theatre, i used pond's cold cream... and then face cleanser, and then toner. Redundancy is always good to make your face looking fresh all the time. mmmuah!
Use Maybellin's express finish make up romover for face and eyes.its 100% oil free and does not give a burning sensation at all.I 've been using it for 2 yrs alomost and its gr8.it just costs Rs.69.
And yes first you shud remove your make up witha make up remover, then you shud wash you r face with water and apply a good toner.

i use face wash to get rid of face makeup and then i use baby lotion[lol] to take off my eyemakeup.
but to answer your question, it would be fine just avoid the eye areas.
i am not sure why don't you google it or check it by clean and clear website.
but i would reccomend gettin a proper make up remover x

Well definitely not as an eye make up remover! That would sting your eyes! But I use that exact same stuff to remove my foundation and blush.

Is it essential to use facial cleanser after make-up remover?
No, I dont. My skin is fine. Just make sure you wash your face properly after makeup. These facial chemical stuff is just a way of making money, I think. Is it essential to use facial cleanser after make-up remover?
I always do it because there's still always makeup on your face after using a remover, so you want to get all the oil and residue off your face. AFter makeup remover and facial cleanser, be sure to tone and use a good moisturizer! :DIs it essential to use facial cleanser after make-up remover?
i don't think so. Just toner then moisturizer should do it

I use Pond's Cold Cream, it removes everything without clogging pores and it's also used many dancers and actors back stage. The best make-up remover/ cleanser. Ive tried so many and never happy, just looking for some suggestions.?
here is a very old fashioned suggestion: Pond's Cold Cream. It is still the best even after about 75 years!!
Massage some in, wipe off with warm wet wash cloth. Use Witch Hazel on cotton pad to tone up skin.
Believe it or not baby oil :] I use it. Works perfect.
clinique purple one has never failed me on anything
mary kay make up remover..works very well..make up comes right off. leaves skin very smoothe.
i work at sephora. i use clinique.

Best cheap make-up remover, cleanser and toner?
Well basically I'm looking for cheap make-up remover, cleanser and toner but a good one. Previously I have used No7 but it is far too dear - I got it for Christmas and it comes to around 拢40-拢50. Any one have any reccommendations? I'm willing to pay up to 拢20 for them all. Thanks :D
(I'm in the UK by the way)Best cheap make-up remover, cleanser and toner?
Tesco Brand I use that and it goodBest cheap make-up remover, cleanser and toner?

Are there any liquid make-up removers that are designed for ALL of the face and not just eye-makeup?
I've just looked through the Boots website and all i can find are cleansing wipes and ';eye-makeup remover'; only....but i want the liquid version that i can clear up all my foundation and everything with cotton balls.
(because im going on holiday in baking hot weather and facewipes may dry out!)
Specific names of products will do if there are any - thankyou. Are there any liquid make-up removers that are designed for ALL of the face and not just eye-makeup?
baby wipes. best makeup remover ever. Are there any liquid make-up removers that are designed for ALL of the face and not just eye-makeup?
That happened to me when I was in Arizona, if you try to re wet them, the whips will get wet again and they are good to go.
The eye make up removes have oil and I would not recommend putting that much oil onto your face.
Good Luck
Clinique do an excellent one called 'take the day off' you should be able to find it on the clinique website www.clinique.co.uk or try ebay for a bargain :)
dont know if its for eyes but ive been using simple cleansing lotion for years to take my makeup off its great for all skin types.
I'd have to agree with the baby wipe as the best make up remover.
If you try to use the liquid eye make-up remover all over your face, they contain oils which will make you break out big time.
Check the ingredients label on everything you put on your face, if it contains Mineral Oil don't use it.
Lancome do a 3-in-1 Cleanser, Toner and Eye Makeup Remover. It's excellent, it's called Eau de Bienfait Clarte.
you can use the hair product ` the conditioner`by paul mitchell on your eyes and skin - trust me ive done it . i used to work in a salon and the rep gave me that tip . the ph of skin and hair is the same so you can switch products.not 2 in 1s or putty products though . this is a really great product and you can get travel; size bottles .doesnt irritate sensitive skin.
i think clinque do-they did. it was great i took it everywhere. but eye makeup romever works eveywhere on the face doesnt it.? i thought its just coz it's milder for your eyes.
Boots No7 cleanser does the job for me and you can get it from debenams or boots at the moment they sell a sensitive range or normal skin. its about 拢10 for big bottle or you can get smaller bottles for less
Almay Liquid Eye Makeup Remover (U can use it on ur face too and it wont clog pores)
clinique makes a good makeup remover that is not a wipe
bobbi brown do an excellent one - its about 拢16 tho.
good investment.
I don't know of any liquid makeup removers for the whole face. I use Oil of Olay cleansing cloths. They are wonderful! Just add a little water to the cloth while rubbing it together and it suds up. You can use it to remove makeup and then to cleanse your whole face. Rinse the cleansing cloth and then use it to wipe your face clean and then throw away. Very convenient for travel and everyday use. Good luck!!
I've never used a separate eye-make up remover as I find them far too greasy. Just use your normal cleanser and then maybe take some wipes with you, as suggested by other answerers, to wipe away any excess mascara if necessary?
Elemis do some great products and their cleanser takes off mascara and lip ink type lipstick. A great place to get Elemis products is www.qvcuk.com. They do great deals on kits which include smaller sizes of moisurisers and and products for specific areas such as neck and bust, eyes etc which are a great size for travelling plus they usually come in a lovely bag as well.
And no, I don't work for QVC, I just spend a lot there!!
Oil of Olay has a cleansing cream tht wrks well. its for morning and at night before bed.
